vs Cramptons FC (Division 1)

The team arrived in good time for a decent warm up on what can only be described as a decent pitch!  Although not perfectly flat the Pfizers pitches are head and shoulders above the council pitches.

The game kicked off with Eddie Andrzejak Refereeing.

Thanet went straight on the offensive with the ball remaining in the opposition half for the first 10 minutes.  Some close shots on goal were eventually rewarded when a cross from Lovey entered the 6yd box and under the pressure a defender managed to direct the ball into his own net, 1-0.

We managed to continue to apply pressure with one notable effort on Goal from Lovey narrowly missing the post after a great run.  We had several more attempts but just couldn't seem to hit the target (Shooting practice for you lot).

Cramptons were no easy side though, on the counter attack they managed to outnumber the defence on several occassions with some great chances of there own.  To be honest they really should have scored with one of the several headers, but we did enough to put them off.  I'd like to particularly mention James Williams for 2 outstanding last man tackles, good job mate.

Half time, 1-0.

After a positive team talk we took to the field again.  We seemed to be more under pressure the second half with some long balls being played to their strikers, gladly dealt with by Shaun and Mark at the back.  The second half brought some chances for both sides, with Jay attempting a cheaky little lob instead of smashing it into the back of the net, and Cramptons having a couple more chances.

Overall a good performance from Thanet, well done lads.  Cramptons are a tough side to play and we wish them all the best for the forthcoming season.
